Vlado Damjanovski is Product & Innovation Manager at Optic Security Group. With over 30 years of industry experience, he has been a key member of our South Australian sales team since 2022. Vlado is internationally respected in the video surveillance sector as a CCTV pioneer, innovator, and educator. 

In 2023, his achievements were honoured with the ‘Individual Achievement (Technical Security)’ Award at the Australian Security Industry Awards for Excellence.

As chairman of the CCTV Standards sub-committee of Australia and New Zealand, he made a significant contribution to the creation of the Australian and New Zealand CCTV standards AS 4806 series and has also worked closely with the IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) WG12 in creating the Digital CCTV Standards IEC 62676.

The CCTV "Bible"

"from light to intelligent pixels" written by Vlado Damjanovski is available through ASIAL.

Being best known for his book "CCTV," which is recognised as "the CCTV Bible" for over three decades. Its fifth edition, "From Light to Intelligent Pixels", was published by the Australian Security Industry Association in 2022.

Damjanovski’s first book, CCTV, one of the first complete reference manuals on the subject of CCTV, was published in 1995, and this was followed by subsequent editions in 1999, 2005, and 2013. The book is referred to by many as ‘The CCTV Bible’, a name that the Russian translation of the book carries as its title.

Security Advisory

 

Be vigilant. There has been an increase in reports of false billing scams. If you have received an email with an invoice purporting to be from us, call your Optic Security Group contact person to confirm if it is legitimate. The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission’s National Anti-Scam Centre has reported a 25% increase in losses incurred by Australians from false billing scams in the July-September 2023 quarter compared to the same period last year. This is despite an overall 16% decrease in losses across scam categories.

 

Payment redirection scams are the most prevalent type of false billing scams. These involve scammers impersonating a business or its employees via email and requesting that money, which usually is owed to the legitimate business, is paid into a fraudulent account.
