We are thrilled that our Group Corporate Services Development Manager Rebecca Sorgiovanni has been shortlisted as a finalist in the Unsung Hero - Electronic Security Sector category of the Australian Security Industry Awards 2025!

Commencing with Optic Security Group as a Service Coordinator in January 2024, Rebecca spared no time in making her value felt. Her impact was recognised on 18 September 2024 with Rebecca becoming the recipient of an internal Play to Win Award for teamwork, an award presented quarterly to only a handful of high-performing employees.

A standout demonstration of Rebecca’s capability and capacity for quality outcomes came with the roll-out of a new Group-wide Corporate Services function. According to Group Corporate Services Manager Stuart Norton-Baker.

“The implementation and roll out of Corporate Services in the Group was an unprecedented and significant undertaking – it had never before been attempted in the business. Optic Security Group was established in 2018 out of the merging of several former security integration businesses across several Australian states and in Auckland and Wellington, and ever since then we had been doing things nine different ways across two countries.

“Rebecca stepped up and took a leading role in the implementation of Group-wide Corporate Services rules and processes. This was a massive endeavour that required the whole business to acclimatise to new ways of doing things, new levels of accountability, and new timelines. Rebecca’s work – and the way she went about her work – ensured optimal acceptance and compliance with this new regime.

“For the business, this has delivered excellent outcomes. We’ve now embedded more seamless processes leading to less waste, sharper invoicing, more timely reporting, regulatory compliance, and, ultimately, savings. Rebecca is 100% the unsung hero.”

Congratulations Rebecca, and all the best for the big awards night in Melbourne on 30 October organised by the Australian Security Industry Association Limited (ASIAL).
