The 2026 New Zealand Outstanding Security Performance Awards (OSPAs) finalists have been announced, with Optic Security Group hospital security team shortlisted.

Optic Security Group has continued its association with the New Zealand OSPAs with Optic’s Counties Manukau Health team making it to the 2026 finalist shortlist.
"We have a very strong track record at the NZ OSPAs, having had finalists and winners in each year of the awards since it began in 2022, including awardees in three categories last year," said General Manager New Zealand Nik Boeinghoff. "We’re extremely honoured to again be shortlisted in these prestigious awards."
"They have built strong, trusted relationships with staff and stakeholders, contributing to a safe and supportive environment for patients and visitors."
Optic Security Group and Counties Manukau Health (formerly Counties Manukau District Health Board) share a deep relationship going back two decades. Over that time, our CM Health team has provided security systems design, delivery, service, maintenance, and technological transformation, becoming a trusted security partner for CM Health.
“The team consistently demonstrates professionalism, strong teamwork, and a proactive approach to security,” stated a testimonial from CM Health. “Their performance is driven by clear communication, accountability, and the ability to adapt effectively within a complex healthcare environment.”
“Their impact on Counties Manukau Health has been significant, with improvements in site safety, incident response, and overall operational efficiency. They have built strong, trusted relationships with staff and stakeholders, contributing to a safe and supportive environment for patients and visitors."
The 2026 New Zealand OSPAs are supported by a range of industry and professional bodies, including the Association of University Chief Security Officers, ASIS International (New Zealand Chapter), Institute of Strategic Risk Management, New Zealand Security Association, New Zealand Security Sector Network, Profit Protection Future Forum and RiskNZ, and it is a key event in New Zealand's security industry calendar.
“We are delighted to return to New Zealand once again and are encouraged the entry numbers are growing each year,” said founder of the OSPAs Professor Martin Gill.
“All those that have made it to the finalists list should be very proud, as only those that reach a score threshold go forward to the next phase of the competition.”
The awards are judged by a panel of independent experts from across the New Zealand security industry.
Winners will be announced at a gala dinner in Auckland on Friday 26 June.
