Vlado Damjanovski: The Global Authority in CCTV Security

In the fast-evolving world of video surveillance, one name stands out as a true pioneer and a beacon of knowledge leadership - Vlado Damjanovski. With decades of groundbreaking work in CCTV research, system design, and product development, Vlado has earned international recognition as a leading video surveillance specialist. Optic Security Group, a prominent Australasian security integrator, recently welcomed Vlado as their Business Development Manager, further solidifying his global reputation within the CCTV industry.

A Trailblazing Career:

Vlado Damjanovski's journey began long before the widespread adoption of CCTV technology. In 1982, he delved into CCD Cameras, laying the foundation for his future accomplishments. His first book, "CCTV," published in 1995, quickly became a renowned reference manual and earned the moniker "The CCTV Bible" - a testament to its authoritative status. The book's successive editions in 1999, 2005, and 2013 solidified Vlado's position as a leading voice in the field. His most recent publication "from light to intelligent pixels" has also been widely accepted by the industry.

Pioneering Innovations:

Vlado's contributions to the CCTV industry extend beyond the written word. In 1997, he designed one of the world's first digital CCTV systems for the Star City Casino, setting a precedent for future advancements. Additionally, he played a vital role in developing the CCTV test chart and the programmable test pattern generator, two essential tools for assessing video surveillance equipment.

Global Standardization Efforts:

Vlado's impact on the industry transcends borders. As the chairman of the CCTV Standards sub-committee of Australia and New Zealand, he significantly contributed to the creation of the AS 4806 series, setting Australian and New Zealand CCTV standards. Furthermore, his collaboration with the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) WG12 led to the establishment of the Digital CCTV Standards IEC 62676, further elevating his international reputation.

Continued Pursuit of Knowledge:

Despite his achievements, Vlado's thirst for knowledge remains unquenchable. He constantly seeks to bridge gaps in understanding complex CCTV technologies, such as the rapidly evolving AI applications. To further elevate the expertise of Optic Security Group staff, he developed a groundbreaking in-house CCTV training course covering crucial topics like light, lenses, cameras, networking, compression, transmission, and storage, among others.

Vlado Damjanovski's contribution to the CCTV industry is unmatched. His decades of pioneering work, authorship of authoritative books, involvement in global standardization efforts, and innovative system designs highlight his exceptional calibre and global reputation within the CCTV industry.

As Optic Security Group embraces Vlado as their Business Development Manager, it is evident that his knowledge leadership will continue to shape the future of video surveillance worldwide.

Security Advisory

Be vigilant. There has been an increase in reports of false billing scams. If you have received an email with an invoice purporting to be from us, call your Optic Security Group contact person to confirm if it is legitimate. The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission’s National Anti-Scam Centre has reported a 25% increase in losses incurred by Australians from false billing scams in the July-September 2023 quarter compared to the same period last year. This is despite an overall 16% decrease in losses across scam categories.

Payment redirection scams are the most prevalent type of false billing scams. These involve scammers impersonating a business or its employees via email and requesting that money, which usually is owed to the legitimate business, is paid into a fraudulent account. For further information, visit the National Anti-Scam Centre website at https://www.scamwatch.gov.au/.
